Food safety
Our certifications

GLOBALGAP
GLOBALGAP is an initiative of a number of major European organisations within the food production chain. This certification is necessary to supply products in the trade chain. Customers can check whether companies are actually certified because central registration takes place. Checks are made on the correct use of plant protection products, fertilisers and demonstrable preventive maintenance and cleaning. Company safety and company hygiene are also checked.
Annual (interim) checks are made on compliance with these regulations.

GRASP
GRASP is part of GLOBALGAP certification. This certificate was developed to assess social risks in primary production. This involves checking whether collective bargaining guidelines are met and whether the living and working environment of employees is adequate. Feedback with staff and staff representatives is also checked in the GRASP certificate.

NURTURE/ Tesco
UK supermarket TESCO expects their suppliers to grow according to the guidelines of the NURTURE scheme. This sets requirements on the use of plant protection products and fertilisers, prevention of pollution, protection of human health, consumption of energy, water and other natural resources. Recycling and reuse of materials and protection of landscape and animals are also monitored.

Tesco LEAF
The LEAF Marque seal is from the organisation LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), which aims to make agriculture and the food chain more sustainable by promoting Integrated Farm Management. The mark sets requirements for soil and water management, pollution control, crop health, animal welfare, community involvement, energy efficiency and landscape and nature conservation.
